Second part - Lightweight presentation

In this second part of the course, we start by studying the properties of pure substances and how the state of a fluid can be characterized. A deepening on water vapor is then carried out, due to its practical importance.

The ideal and perfect gas models are then briefly presented, then a return to the concept of state is made, with a reflection on the choice of state variables to consider.

The thermodynamic charts in which the cycles can be visualized are analysed, because they play a fundamental role in the learning of the discipline.

The cycles of simple energy systems are then plotted in the (h, ln (P)) charts which makes it possible to visualize the physical phenomena at play and the few reference processes identified before.

Finally we introduce the Thermoptim browser and show in guided explorations of pre-built models how these cycles can be modeled with the software package.
